Skipped last week's smut? That's OK! I've gotchu! (Plus an explanation of last week's chapter title at the end of the summary, in case you're curious.)

After massaging the ears of a totally drunk-off-his-ass Radio Demon (who's just had his head messed with by both Grace and Rosie, not that we're feeling the least bit bad for this cannibalistic serial killer) and retreating to the hotel common area to have a pity party, Grace rouses in the middle of the night to a shadowy Alastor beckoning her to join him.

After he leads her back to her hotel room, he resumes his usual form, admits how much he enjoyed the massage and thanks her for the most restful sleep he'd probably ever gotten. (No shit; you were practically comatose, my dude.) He then apologizes for hurting her. Rather than asking for specifics or brushing him off, Grace tells him, "I know it's part of your nature." <-- this may or may not be important at numerous points down the road.

He replies, "You deserve better than me," which makes Grace wonder what, exactly, he knows of her feelings. It also leads her to begin doubting if any of this night is really happening.

Things get more absurd from there when maybe-or-maybe-not Dream Alastor starts stripping and requests to feel her skin against his.

Turns out, he may (or may not?) enjoy touching her and, the fool she is, she allows him to kiss her again.

Remember those claws she couldn't find any good superlative for when she was trying to figure out "if not meant for sex, why so sexy?" Well, they serve an unexpectedly kinky S&M'y purpose for Grace (she enjoys being scratched to the point of significant suffering). Obviously, our sadistic Radio Demon--in dreams or in reality--would have no qualms physically abusing another sinner.

Injury (may or may not) escalate(s) to adult situations of a different nature, during which maybe-dream-Alastor loses his self-control and starts assuming that big-ass demon form of his in the midst of their activities.

Grace begs him to stop; he counters with "I know you can take it," to which she acquiesces and is rewarded with a well-deserved (not to mention severely understated!) "good girl."

So what's with that chapter title, Jewel? This was a reference to a character in Sarah J Maas's A Court of Thorns and Roses book series. Nesta is the mate to a massively well-endowed male character named Cassian. This wonderful Redditor sums it up better than I ever could:

I imagine when Alastor is the size of a several-story-tall building, his appendages remain proportional. Sorry Cassian, move over.

And so, as well as Nesta accomodated Cassian's endowment, Grace (may or may not have) put her to shame taking on Alastor in his giant demon form.

So now you're all caught up!

If you didn't read it and now wish to after that recap (or want to re-read it): Chapter 13: Putting Nesta to Shame

Nothing to see here. Move along.

For those new to my writing, please rest assured that I don't believe in leaving threads loose. Al will be revealed in good time.

😇😇😇 And um ... sorry for this chapter. 😇 See ya next week? 😇😇😇

“She looks so peaceful.”

“Is she … is she smiling in her sleep?”

“I wonder what she's dreaming about?”

“After the other night? Probably offing Alastor.”

“Ha! Who doesn’t dream about that?”

“Why is she out here, though?”

“I don’t know, but I’ll send Niff up to her room. Maybe something was objectionable there overnight.”

Grace sighed, stretching in her spot but refusing to open her eyes just yet. So what if Charlie, Vaggie, and Husk were talking over her?

In an effort to cling to the remnants of her unbelievable dreams, Grace moaned, “For someone who’s never done that before, you were amazing.”

Husk gagged. Loudly. “Well, there goes my hope that she wasn't dreaming about doing that with him.”

Vaggie replied, “And there goes my appetite.”

Dreams swept Grace away once more.

Next week, a chapter that includes my absolute favorite interaction of this whole fic--

Stay sane, deer friends (and kindly don't key my car or slash my tires in the meantime)!
